APPOINTED TO ARCHITECTURE POST AT U.C.D.
"Dr. Cathal O'Neill, a Dublin architect, who has been appointed by the National University of Ireland to the Chair of Architecture at University College, Dublin.
Educated at Colaiste Mhuire, Dublin, and at University College, Dublin, where he graduated with honours in architecture; he also took a Master's Degree in Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he studied under Mies van der Rohe, and subsequently worked as an assistant in his office.
Since 1962 he has been in private practice in Dublin in addition to lecturing in the School of Architecture at University College, Dublin.
Professor O'Neill has been for several years a visiting lecturer for the Department of Fine Arts at Trinity College, Dublin, and also visiting lecturer to the Department of Engineering at Galway University. He has been a member of the Council of the Royal Insitute of Architects of ireland, and of the Board of Architectural Education of the institute.
He takes up his new post on October 1st next."
